Annual Gala

Each spring, we host a Champagne Supper in a Chevy Chase home to showcase a residence of architectural or historic significance. The event features champagne and a catered supper, musical entertainment, and exhibits that chronicle the history of the house and the surrounding area. As guests savor the house and meet new neighbors, they become more informed about Chevy Chase’s unique history and the CCHS services that can help them better appreciate that history.

Our annual gala has been hosted in Chevy Chase homes since 1982.

Party on the Porch!

In celebration of its 40th Anniversary, the Chevy Chase Historical Society hosted its first-ever virtual Spring Gala, Party on the Porch, on
May 20, 2021. The event celebrated the porch, a prominent and beloved feature of so many Chevy Chase homes. Doug Kammerer, News4’s Chief Meteorologist and Chevy Chase resident, joined the fun as our neighborhood host. Architectural Historian Sandy Heiler led a virtual tour through the surprising history of the porch. Chevy Chase designers Katy Anderson, Sarah Hayes, and Deborah Scheck demonstrated ideas for hosting a party on your porch.
Guests received an access link to view the event and a party basket for two filled with libations and
hors d’oeuvres from Chevy Chase favorite La Ferme Restaurant.
